Vancouver is a beautiful city. It is good to be ACL to see all of my old friends and see some new faces!
I am now a research scientist at Google Research
Seattle! I really enjoyed my time in Microsoft
Research, but I am also very excited about my new
[2016 Winter] The first
version of the sequential QA dataset is out! Please check
the paper and the data
set here. Thanks Mohit
for his hard work.
[2016 Fall] Going
to give a keynote about entity linking and question
answering. Excited to have a good reason to visit Japan
for the first time :)
[2015 Fall] We have release
an early version of a diverse and challenging dataset for
algebra word problem
called DRAW. There
report for some analysis. Your comments are very
[2015 Fall] The demo for our entity linking system is out!
[2015 Summer] Our paper on Knowledge base QA has been selected as one of the Outstanding papers in ACL 2015. Our entity linking system is one of the core components of the system.
[2015 Summer] The missing type recovery dataset is now available at [this page].
[2014 Summer] I spent quite
a summer with two awesome interns on interesting knowledge base related
Yang worked on improving Entity linking systems, while Arvind
worked on knowledge base completion. It turns
out both projects involve simple but interesting machine learning techniques.
[2014 Summer] Our ACL2014
Wikification tutorial slides are now online: pptx.
[2014 Summer] Our twitter
entity linking system, E2E, has won
Entity Extraction & Linking (NEEL) Challenge. The
results show that the F1 of E2E is better than the rest of
the systems by absolute 15% F1.
did a really great job during his internship. He studied
the spatial and temporal effect on tweet entity linking. The
paper "Entity Linking on Microblogs with Spatial and
Temporal Signals" has just been accepted by TACL. We also
proposed the IE and IR evaluation metrics for entity linking.
We will release the labeled dataset later.
[2013 Summer] Updated my website.
[2013 Summer] I am excited to have Yuan Fang to be my intern this summer to improve the entity linking systems for tweets!
2012 Summer: Stephen Guo visited MSR as an intern working with me on entity linking problems for tweets.
2011 Fall: I am excited to join MSR as a full-time researcher @ the ISRC group.
2010 Fall: Check the new "People" page of the cogcomp group of UIUC. It is very beautiful!
2010 Summer: Thanks to my advisor Dan Roth and my friend Dan Goldwasser, I have an unforgettable trip to Israel. Israel is a very interesting and surprisingly beautiful country.
2009 Summer: I gave a tutorial on Constrained Conditional Models at EACL at Athens, Greece with my advisor
Dan Roth and my colleague Lev Ratinov.
2008 Summer: The homepage has been redesigned. Now the publication page is generated automatically.
2007 Summer: I had an excellent road trip from Urbana to Seattle and then enjoyed the internship at Microsoft Research.
